I want to start by saying that the staff, especially Mary, are all nice and wonderful people. The bedside manners here are spectacular and they do good work. Their overall score makes sense but be aware that the financial part is where things kind of fell apart for me. I have a pretty long specific situation that I will attempt to summarize below: I started coming to Pflugerville Smiles around Sept 2023 and with my employer I had BCBS but was moved to UHC in Feb 2024. Before getting some big work done, I let the practice know that my insurance has changed and they let me know that they are in-network therefore I will still be covered. I was led to believe only $1000 would be out of pocket, the same that they quoted me before the switch, which I was onboard with. Fast forward to months and months of arguing with UHC and having Pflugerville Smiles assist, UHC ends up paying only about $300 of the full $2000+ procedure. After receiving competing messaging the entire time from the insurance, attributed to their overall incompetence, it is finally determined that due to a very specific contract that I am under with my employer and that Pflugerville Smiles does not pay into, it essentially made the practice out-of-network for me. A month after our mutual understanding, I have yet to hear of any considerations from Pflugerville Smiles for the miscommunication but ultimately they just care that they have all their money. They have no skin in the game as I took the entire brunt of the financial burden and the insurance paid whatever share they were going to pay. Also note, if you are on any kind of payment plan don't expect them to give you a courtesy call or notice, that money is as good as gone when they choose. TLDR: The only recourse I have is to leave a review to let you know as a client to be careful on the insurance/financial side. If I could do it again, I would have postponed my procedure and rather fight with the insurance up front than on the back end paying out an extra and unexpected $700-800 expense.

I am a disabled healthcare worker and needed a cracked molar extracted. I was able to be seen quickly and was told it would be a simple procedure . I have my own insurance , Mary Medical assistant/Administrative assistant told me that my insurance would only cover a small fraction of the procedure{extraction} and would only have to pay $372.00; so I agreed only because I was already on the table and was prepared that morning for a tooth extraction with that being said, after numbing the area extraction only took 3 min the procedure was over and received non-dissolvable sutures (stitches) in which required me to return to facility for removal on 10/15/2024. I am still swollen due to the use of this type of suture. After speaking to my insurance company of this matter they said my tooth extraction was completely covered but not sutures or a simple spritz of water. So, the total cost of tooth removal was $600 + $372 for a spritz of water and a sutures. I was never told I was having a surgical procedure. I suggest go elsewhere, this place is unsanitary. They have no good communication. They are just money hungry.

If you need a great dentist in Pflugerville, TX, Dr. Balaraman is the BEST!!! Aka Dr. B at Pflugerville Smiles. She and her staff are wonderful to work with. I had many issues with my teeth & never smiled in a picture that showed my teeth. Her team corrected all the necessary work, including extractions and some cosmetic dentistry. I love coming to this location! I was referred by a friend of the family, and have been here a few times. Zaira is so sweet and is always very helpful getting me checked in at the front counter. Mary is also so delightful and personable when I see her- I never leave after my appointments until we've shared some laughs at the front-of-house. Dr. Balaraman and her staff are very professional and courteous with services rendered. She's very clear with the procedures she is providing and also communicates a clear expectation. The procedure seats are comfy and have pockets for your elbows (which I love). I do get comfortable when my mouth is fully open and have honestly fallen asleep while Dr. Balaraman is working on my teeth. Let me start off by saying if your guessing about going in, don't just go. I have not been to the dentist since 2014. I was ashamed and embarrassed about how bad I let my teeth go. From the minute I walked I walked in I was greeted and felt good about being there. I was taken back and met Mary and Dr B. They didn't shame me and made feel good about being there. I later scheduled for some procedures and I was promised I would not feel pain. I came back in the 2nd visit for my procedures and they took care of me and made sure I felt comfortable the whole time. I needed a lot of work from me prolonging the care I needed. Don't do what I did to myself and let this awesome team take care of you. Tell them how you feel and they will make sure to take good care of you. I am so happy now and feel good about my teeth. I went in for my first visit in July because I was having an issue with my jaw. I hadn't been to the dentist in over 5 years because I had a bad experience with my former dentist in Arlington, TX. So I was a bit nervous about my visit. During my visit, it was determined that I needed all of my wisdom teeth removed. Not the kind of news I wanted to hear but Dr. Balaraman was very patient with me, answered all of my questions, and most importantly, eased my anxiety! I asked questions repeatedly, and would even call to ask more questions and each time, she took the time to answer. During the extraction process, Dr. Balaraman talked me through it which really put my fears at ease. She did a great job! Now I just need to go back to get a crown fixed that was done by my previous dentist but I have no doubt that Dr. Balaraman will do a great job. I can tell she enjoys what she does and what I like most, is that she wants it done right! I am in very good hands here. The whole staff is awesome! Jennifer at the front is so nice and friendly. I have called her a few times to ask questions and she is ever so patient with me and answers all of my questions. Every staff member I have encountered has been amazing! I am very impressed by not only the awesome staff, but the cleanliness of the office. For someone like me who was traumatized by the dentist, I actually look forward to my future visits at Pflugerville Smiles thanks to Dr. Balaraman and her staff.

This Dentist is about the smoothest I have had. I had a cleaning that the Dr performed herself and my teeth came out whiter than I expected for a cleaning after a year or so. Coffee stain were gone. Dr.Lakshmi Balaraman and her staff have always been professional and welcoming and always with a smile. I have had my regular cleanings but have not had any major work done as of yet. The office staff has always been on top of their game in answering questions, verifying insurance coverage, sending reminders for upcoming appointments and never up-selling but offering options where applicable. I will continue to use their services and recommend their office to those looking for a local dentist. I will follow-up on my review after any major dental work (crowns, root canals, fillings...) as that is always the good indicator in conjunction to regular scheduled check-ups. Dr. Balaraman is taking care of my whole family. She and the staff discuss treatment options and explain what they are, scheduling is fairly simple and the reminders are helpful in remembering the appointment. It can be more challenging to work with children, as they may not want to have their mouths open for what needs to be done or if they need to have a cavity filled, it’s not comfortable, but I felt like Dr. and her staff held a caring presence for my children. I’m satisfied with our care. Thanks, Dr. Balaraman!

The advanced technology here allows you to see everything that they are doing while they are doing it. This allows you to ask questions and actually see for yourself!! Receptionist Amanda is great. Her Ability to break down the treatment plan so that it is understandable is very much appreciated. Carmen is very Relatable and our conversations are always great. Dr. Balaraman is phenomenal the pride she takes in her work is very respectable. Lastly Laura, every teeth cleaning feels like a whole new set of teeth. I know her arms hurt after all the work she puts into my mouth but it is also much appreciated. Happily satisfied.

I love this dentist! Went in for some minor work and told them I would make a new appointment for an additional tooth that was bothering me. She took great lengths to identify where I was feeling discomfort. Afterwards, she told me that I had not identified the same tooth twice and my recent x-rays showed no issues. I could make another appointment but there was nothing else she needed to do at this time. So nice when a dentist cares about your health more than taking your money!

The receptionist always found a adequate time to work around my hectic schedule, and prior to the appointment would confirm via phone/text to avoid any discrepancies. I absolutely hate the dentist with a passion. BUT.. I love coming here for routine checkups! This place is super friendly and knows me by name and is very accommodating to my concerns and allows me to feel comfortable enough to ask questions any time. The staff is very nice and professional. They all appear to genuinely enjoy working here and I love places like that. Teamwork! I enjoyed being distracted while the dental hygienist cleaned my teeth as I watched my favorite show on TV ! Dr. Balaraman met with me promptly, explained the service i'd need and said she could do it now if I wanted but had their receptionist bring over an explanation of my insurance and expected costs before they did anything. Aside from the great staff and service, I also really liked the office itself. It was very welcoming and I felt good vibes all around! I now understand why this place has so many good reviews :) I can't wait to go back!(I can't believe I just said that about a dentist's office)

Dr. Balaraman and staff were great with my 7 year old. They performed a few procedures which included sealants, a tooth exposure, a molar extraction, and also inserting a spacer for the extracted molar. My son was very comfortable with each procedure as the dentist and dental assistants each talked to him before each procedure, NO TEARS or PAIN. Now that the difficult procedures have been completed, we're looking forward to our 6 month checkup. Thank you Pflugerville Comfort Dental for making my son's 1st dental experience a great one.

If you had a bumper sticker that read "I love my Hygienist!", I would buy it. This is by far the best practice with the latest technology. Don't fear your dentist. Get in there, let them do their magic. I promise they will get you on the right track. I love the ceiling mounted tv's for your viewing pleasure. Where else can you watch shark week and get your teeth cleaned at the same time?

Let me just start by saying that I haven't been to the dentist for over 10 years, particularly because I didn't have insurance. I was nervous because it had been so long and I knew I had lots of things going on with my teeth. What I really like is that they're really helpful and caring. They were so nice and made me feel a lot more comfortable with the whole experience. Dr. Balaraman even joked around about how we are going to be in a relationship together now because we will be seeing each other a lot to get all of my dental matters taken care of. Super nice folks here. The office is beautiful, warm and inviting. Everyone here is really friendly and has great bedside manner. They don't try to rip you off either! Nor do they make you feel like a horrible person if you don't have good teeth. I haven't been to the dentist in 5 years due to lack of insurance. I can say that I look forward to going to the dentist just because of the way I'm treated here. And I'm saying that after having a deep cleaning and a tooth pulled!! I'm a person, not a number here.

First off, today was my first visit to Pflugerville Comfort Dental and to be completely honest I felt so comfortable, like I’ve been going here for years. Not to mention this office is so pleasant and inviting, the receptionist Becky is super friendly and helped me with any and all questions I had. I came in today for a routine cleaning and found out I needed a repair on an old filling, which to me was a bummer since the whole procedure really is dreadful. Despite past uncomfortable experiences, I can honestly and truthfully say that I felt virtually no pain at all! Dr. Balaraman and her staff were so friendly, gentle, and careful I didn’t even have to “raise my left arm” once! I was just blown away at how quickly the procedure went as well, a quick painless numbing and within twenty minutes I was all set to finish my cleaning. I am SO grateful to have found this dental office; just the entire experience was pleasant and enjoyable, from the prep to the x-ray and just every part of my procedure was so awesome and relaxing. They were all really concerned with my comfortably and made sure everything was satisfying and painless, it was really nice and refreshing. I know my family and I are now devoted patients to this office and I am beyond pleased to know we are thoroughly taken care of. I can say this has been a truly great experience for me and it’s wonderful to know you can trust and rely on a staff to take great care of you and your TEETH!! :D

Comfort Dental is a fitting name for this dentist office. The office and exam area layout is nice. The exam areas provides privacy without making you feel so enclosed. The entire staff was excellent and made sure I felt comfortable and understood everything from my insurance coverage to the exam and procedures. At times I was so relaxed I felt like I was at a spa! This was my best dental experience by far, and has allowed me to put to rest my fears caused by other dentist in the past. I am looking forward to my next visit and plan to switch my children to this office too.

From the phone call to make the appointment, to being prepped for the procedure to actually being worked on is such a wonderful experience. Prior to using Pflugerville Comfort Dental, I had used a dentist that was across the street from my employment for 30 years. I had great trust in my original dentist, but he moved locations. I was afraid to try a different dentist, but found that the staff and Dentist at comfort dental made me feel welcome right away. They do such pain free work I have fell asleep in the dental chair during more then one treatment. I could not recomend a better dentist or staff and I will be turning 59 this year.

The receptionist, Henrietta, was warm and friendly, the dental assistant, Mary, very efficient and gentle even with some of those challenging X rays! Dr. Balaraman's exam, cleaning and dental procedure was the best, most thorough yet painless process I've gone through with dentists! Most importantly she demonstrated integrity (based on comparing another dentist's recommendations within this past year that was questionable). Thankfully, this second opinion by Dr. Balaraman "paid off". I actually have a peace about my next dental visit at Comfort Dental.

I really liked Pflugerville Comfort Dental and would love to be its client unless I have to move out of state. The receptionists and administrative staff are super-organized and helpful; they answered numerous questions about my insurance and always worked with me to figure out how to reduce the costs on my end. And I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointments. Dr. Balaraman is highly experienced, friendly, thorough and so gentle with teeth. I had almost pain free teeth cleaning and filling.
